THE brand new high performance Lexus GS F is set to take on a critical support role before it’s even publicly released, after being unveiled as the new official medical car for the 2016 V8 Supercars Championship.
The GS F combines a high performance powertrain featuring a 351kW V8 powerplant and a dynamic four-door sedan body to provide the pace to scramble to incidents and the space to accommodate lifesaving equipment and personnel as part of the support fleet for the racing series.
The 2016 line-up also includes the RC F V8 Safety Car and newly introduced IS 200t F Sport course car. The latter features turbocharged power via Lexus’ in-house developed 2.0-litre engine producing 180kW of power and 350Nm of torque.
The GS F is the latest addition to Lexus’ high performance F Line. It features an intelligent eight-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission and Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) in addition to its high output V8 engine. ZF SACHS monotube dampers aid dynamic potential while Brembo brakes provide its stopping power.
The GS F will launch officially in Australia next week ahead of the GS F medical car beginning duty at the opening round of the 2016 V8 Supercars season, the Clipsal 500, in Adelaide on March 3 to 6.
Exhaust Notes Australia will be testing the 2016 Lexus GS F in April.
